When I was a kid back in the 70's my friend had an album with crazy songs on it. We would play it all the time and goof around singing. Many nights while the adults were playing cards on Friday nights we would stay up late and get the giggles with the weird songs and the Friday night comedy shows. Later, as a teen I was lucky enough to stumble upon the same madness on the Radio. I listened to a local FM Rock Station and one night I heard the goofy Dr. Demento rambling on and playing his music. He wasn't at our local radio station. But I think the station imported the Doctor for Friday nights somehow. However it happened, I'm just glad it did! All my friends in highschool were tuning in! This was in the 80's and some of the songs were new for our time. They were always a goof!! We also got a dose of the good old days from the Doctor when he would play really old funny songs as far back as the 50's or so. But whatever it was, if the Doctor was on... So were we!! One night we heard The Great Smokeoff and it started a huge debate that carried on to many parties. Who was better? Who could hang? The guys or the girls? Wow!! What a time. I'm really happy with the new CD and I do recommend it to anyone who appreciates those old songs that make you laugh. I'm turning my 9 year old boy onto the music now. And it was our parents who first turned us on to the "funny songs" over 30 years ago when we were kids. Spreading a good laugh is great! And so is singing! With this music you can do both and it doesn't matter what you sound like. It's really just about the fun of it all. I rated this CD as Excellent and I really do recommend it. It's got a great mix of funny songs. We love it!Read full review
This CD is a culmination of years of Dr.Demento listening. It has 17 songs that are all classics and most enjoyable. Weird Al’s song ‘Yoda’ is one that everyone who follows comedic songs has heard and enjoys. ‘Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda’ has been parodied by commercials and movies because of its hilarious story line and continues to remain a favorite on the Dr.Demento show. ‘Fish Heads’ and ‘Dead Puppies’ are a couple of the most requested songs on the weekly show and ‘Star Trekkin’ is loved by Trekkies and non-trekkies alike. ‘Ti Kwan Leep/Boot to the Head’ and ‘The Smoke Off’ are two that aren’t solely musical, but tell a vivid story. There’s even a song from the master himself, Dr.Demento, ‘Shaving Cream.’ This CD has it all if your looking for a great, funny track to listen to. It’ll make you laugh, gross you out a little, and most important of all, bring a smile to your face.Read full review
I listened to the very first broadcast of Dr. Demento, and was hooked! I love songs with a sense of humor, and the songs on this CD definitely fulfill that! There's only one song I dislike on this CD; The rest I knew by heart. I played guitar in high school, so I recorded the songs I loved, figured out the chords and music, and would sing them for my assignment due each week. My teacher used to shake his head with a little smile, and ask me where I came up with those songs. I miss his show. If anyone can tell me if it's still on the air, when and where, I would be very grateful!
I bought this as a gift for my friend who lost his eyesight within the past year. As I am sure you can imagine, this has been a very stressful & depressing time for him. This CD is just what the Dr. ordered... or should I say, just what I ordered from the Dr. I have not seen him enjoy himself this much since he lost his eyesight. I am so pleased that this hilarious hit list made his Christmas something of joy!!
wild, whacky. fun, off the wall, tasteless, to toss in a few describtive words.

I found out about Dr. Demento when I was in college and instantly fell in hysteric likes for the funny music he is involved with. I bought the cd, though was a little disappointed that some of the songs I hoped would be on there, weren't. For example, "Homecoming Queen's got a gun" and the "Beep Beep" song. Otherwise, it was still hilarious and I would recommend it to anyone...
It wasn’t new but I didn’t expect it to be.
