Twilight Zone on Steroids.
Back in 2001-2007, I was busy with other things while my wife watched the TV series, "The Dead Zone." At the time, she told me how good it was but I never watched the show. More recently, we heard that an episode name, "Plague," bore an uncanny resemblance to our current problems with the coronavirus. "Plague" appears in the 2nd season, so we bought that set of disks to see details. Wow, what a production! And another one from season 2 is "The Storm," which is every bit as good or better. My wife then insisted we get Season 1, so we could see how the series started and get the groundwork for all that followed. We've not been disappointed with Season 1, although a few episodes were not as good as the others from earlier in the year. This makes perfect sense from a production standpoint because it was obvious that the lavish spending couldn't take place for every program. All that said, "The Dead Zone" has been a revelation for me because of how well done it is and how well cast and photographed every scene has been. The production staff includes Michael Piller and his son Shawn, of Star Trek Next Generation (STNG) fame. There are a number of other staff and actors from STNG that we see in The Dead Zone which add further to its high quality. In short, I see the series as being "Twilight Zone on Steroids.."
