About this product

Product Information

Two great episodes from the Canadian television, police action-comedy DUE SOUTH. Canadian Mountie Benton Frasier (Paul Gross) and his partner, Detective Stanley Raymond Kowalski (Callum Keith Rennie) are exported to the streets of Chicago from up north to fight crime. Endless humor comes into play as they are only armed with a deaf, lipreading K-9 and their traditional moral code. The episodes "Call Of The Wild part One," and "Call Of The Wild Part Two" focuses on a murder investigation that leads the two detectives into and arms smuggling operation in the windy city's underworld.

  • "Finished" the series, but was just 'lacking'

It's sort of a 'wrap-up' of the 2-season series. It introduced a couple of new characters, with very little development of who and why....and it really didn't work that the actress 'superior officer' was changed. There was a good bit of 'flashback' film that was unnecessary. I think they tried to pack too much into a single film.... even though they divided it into '2 parts'. Though I enjoyed the series, some of the episodes got a bit 'hokey', and the wit was lost into slapstick. The same was very true of the wrap up. They should have decided on either a comedy or a witty drama.... the mixing just didn't make the grade for me. Paul Goss is a handsome guy and pulled off the Mounty character with aplomb..... maybe should stick to acting and not writing screenplays.
