Some truly scary scenes that are within the bounds of realism, especially th one that takes place in the swimming pool. This is horror well done in that it doesn't veer into incredulity. Burnt Offerings
I got this for a friend but watched it before I gave it to him. I hadn't seen it since it first came out and it was really creepy how the house began to work its evil on the family and they ended up losing in the long run. Mrs. Allerdyce just looked like pure evil. Karen Black is always fun to watch.
