Although a little dated in terms of production, it's certainly entertaining and absolutely stays true to Gilbert and Sullivan's intentions. This set's video of "The Pirates of Penzance" was my 12-year-old son's first introduction to G&S and he loved it.

I agree with many other reviewers. The performances are not great, but they are watchable, and it is a chance to see many of the shows I would not normally get a chance to see. The use of well known performers, who can't quite sing doesn't hurt as much as I thought it might. Vincent Price almost pulls it off. All in all,it is worth purchasing, but don't set your expectations too high.
My wife and I were professionals, and we sang and directed adlll these operas. This bundle is at a high level of performance, and of course tall ten of these shows are masterpieces, by a great with and a composer of beautiful music, the Rodgers and Hammerstein of their day. A unique combinatiooooon of elegance, wit and melodic beauty.
