The title of this film explains what women of color have to do to get home from their place of employment.
If a person is unsure about the segregation issue during the 1950s and 1960s, THE LONG WALK HOME DVD realistically shows the social issues in the South. Sissy Spacek, realistically, shows how much she cares for Whoopi Goldberg's character. She wants Whoopi Goldberg's and other characters to be comfortable when the women are going to their places of employment. Whoopi Goldberg and other women have to walk miles to arrive at their place of employment, instead of "riding in the back of the bus." The women boycott riding on buses, which is their mode of transportation to their employment. Spacek's driving women to their places of employment creates tension in her household. Many other women drive women to their place of employment. The "tension" in THE LONG WALK HOME is not entertaining.
