This Prisoner 10 episodes are great shows to watch if you like spy mixed in with state of the art sci-fi stuff in it! I watched a few of these long time ago when I was growing up in the mid 60's when the Prisoner from the UK started showing. Actually the star Pat Mcgoonan was the highest paid actor in Europe from the UK and had "complete" control over the movie episodes which was real unusual for that time! He was sure a "genius" of his time and is great these shows are still around. You need to watch them several times to get all of the "Information" in them pun here! :-)

Well, if it was what I thought it was it’d be great. Smartly packaged up and looking good but l was looking for the prequel to the Wentworth series. I’m sure this’d be great to watch also but it’s not what l hoped for. Oh well. Haven’t watched it all yet, so I’m not one to rate it. Primo condition.

A unique and brilliantly done "spy" series that lacks all of the cliches and thin plots of so many others. Patrick McGoohan is perfect in the role of the "resigned" agent, drugged and deposited in the mysterious "Village." McGoohan would have made a memorable James Bond. My personal favorite episodes include "Chimes of Big Ben," "A,B and C," and "The Girl Who was Death." Leo McKern was the best "Number 2" by far and should have been featured in more episodes. Even the nearly incomprehensible final episode was, at the least, fascinating and can't diminish the quality acting and innovative scripting of this one-of-a-kind series.
There is so much to say about this classic series. First of all, thanks should be given for it being on DVD, not only for the importance of this series, but also as a visual record of the culture this series would come to represent. Conspiracy buffs will love 'THE PRISONER' as well as the crowd who love the 'AUSTIN POWERS' grasp of the psychodelic world of the 1960's, as a valuable intelligence agent finds himself the prisoner, or rather the resident of 'THE VILLAGE', one of the most intriquing places on earth. Stripped of his name for a number and treated to several bizarre forms of torture, number 6 tries each week to befuddle his hosts and in some way find a way to escape his confinement. One of the great landmark series in history, it reflects the darker side of the Cold War, and in many ways predicts society's future as it may exist today.Read full review
Patrick McGoohan starred in some of the neatest shows when I was younger. Dr. Syn, the Scarecrow, Secret Agent Man, and this show which I discovered a little bit later, The Prisoner. Is it truly the sequel to Secret Agent Man? Well, I guess it could be - Number 6 is an ex-secret agent. I thoroughly enjoy the mix of intrigue & sci-fi that runs throughout the series. Actually, it's so good, they tried to do it again last year on AMC!
