Although probably one of the most prolific soundscore (OSS)/soundtrack (OST) CD collectors, with several hundred currently comprising my collection, Backdraft is probably one of my most favorite Hans Zimmer (Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, Pirates of the Caribbean, The DaVinci Code, Crimson Tide) movie soundscores. Each instrumental track is powerful and awe inspiring, as well as a viable tribute to our brave firefighters the world-over. Little known fact: Strangely enough, not only are these tracks well-known as the soundscore to the 1991 movie with the same title, but also some of these tracks were utilized as the underlying theme music for the original Japanese television (FujiTV) series 'Iron Chef' (1993-1999) which was also seen on the Food Channel. [Iron Chef is a Japanese television program produced by FujiTV. The original Japanese title is Ironmen of Cooking (料理の鉄人, Ryōri no tetsujin?)] An edited version of the track 'Fighting 17th' was used as the 'Iron Chef' show's opening theme. 'Iron Chef' fans might also recognize segments of the tracks entitled 'Burn It All', 'Fahrenheit 451', and 'Show Me Your Firetruck'. If you're a fan of 'Backdraft' and/or of 'Iron Chef', then you'll no doubt want to add this CD to your soundtrack/soundscore CD collection. This CD was also a classic eBay/Half.com find.Read full review

I love this movie and the music is the best that I have ever heard. I totally recommend this to anyone who loves music, especially symphonys and orchestras no matter if they saw the movie or not. Hans Zimmer is an awesome artist and I totally recommend all of his music to anyone!
