I had first bought the tape of this album in '00, having heard the first track (a sprightly slip jig), on the Celtic music radio show "Thistle and Shamrock." I like Kim's arrangements of traditional songs, such as her rhythmically inventive version of the 16th-century carol "Gaudete." On the downside, her singing voice is very often pretentiously breathy (for example, in the song "Ferry Me Across The Water"), and I find some of her pronunciations quite prissy, which interfered with my enjoyment of some of the songs, but overall I am happy with the CD. I'd say it's considerably more substantial than most of Narada's offerings. Her inclusion and joyful delivery of the Cheryl Leah/Ed Willett original song "Roses In the Hollow" really add a great dimension to the CD - in fact, I liked it so much that my username is taken from the lyrics.Read full review
