Saw the movie when it came out. Astoundingly violent and funny as hell. Tobe lets the actors run wild. Outrageous shock comedy that obviously influenced Rob Zombie to the point that he cast Bill Mosely in his first two films. Mosely is amazing as Leatherface's brother, and a major thorn in his side. Always telling him what to do and teasing him. Funny stuff. What makes this movie different from all the other slasher flicks is the plot; Leatherface in love !! Dennis Hopper is actually the straight man here. Vengeance is all he's after. I'll always love this movie. Check it out !!
it's worth watching if you are into the Texas Chainsaw movies- had a lot of humor in this one

a texas d.j. accidentally records a brutal murder and as a consequence she gets involved with a religiously zaelous texas ranger (dennis hopper)bent on a mission of revenge. and she herself becomes a target of the cannibalistic sawyer family (now award winning caterers). after they are tracked to an abandoned funpark. but leatherface wont kill her because he's got a crush on her (the d.j.) instead turning her co worker into tender vittles. the good guys gum up the works, leading to a climax worthy of the first film. starring also bill mosely of 'house of a thousand corpses'. awww..leatherface is all growed up now, haw haw.
This amazing horror classic is a perfect showcase for the directing talent of Tobe Hooper. Those expecting your run of the mill rehash sequel will be disappointed, what Texas Chainsaw pt. 2 offers can almost be described as a characacher of the origional film. While the origional film was a gritty and visceral experience in terror; The second installment is a perfect blend of over the top splatter, black comedy and social commentary. It's the small details that make this film so influential, films like House of 1000 Corpses have borrowed so much from this Chainsaw 2, however; no director has done it as well as Tobe Hooper. As essential to any horror collection as the origional.
Leatherface is a misunderstood young man looking for someone to love & someone to cut up with his saw. He just might have found both in Stretch- a leggy disc-jockey in Texas who broadcast the audio from Leatherface's slaughter of a couple of scummy yuppie frat boys. Leatherface & his brother Choptop (Bill Moseley) storm the radio station for some motorized madcap antics. Little do they know that it was a set-up by Lefty (Dennis Hopper) to find their macabre lair and exact his revenge for killing his pansy-assed brother. Cannibalistic Chili con Carne, chainsaw fighting and steel skull plates make this a film for everyone.

Whilst entertaining for most of the time-this sequel lacks the power & intensity of the original. Tobe Hooper just did not make that same impact like he did with the first TCM. Leatherface here evokes more pity rather than fear. He just comes accross as the blundering lovesick puppy. The gore effects are too over the top & unrealistic- with a very unconvincing head slicing scene of the yuppie at the beginning of this film. Only Jim Siedow & Bill Moseley as the crazy Chop-Top were the highlights here.
good video.
