Following her minister father's death, which she ascribes to his ouster from the pulpit by church elders, a young woman falls under the control of a con man who convinces her to take her rage and passion on the road as an evangelist. As her newfound career blossoms--complete with staged "healings" and overblown spectacle--a blind war veteran falls in love with her, threatening her handler's meal ticket.
