This video features one of the last performances of Brian Jones who died less than a year after this was made. Also,It features the only known footage of Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi during his short tenure playing guitar as a member of Jethro Tull. Jagger is awestruck by John Lennon in this video,Especially when they are doing an interview segment together. The Who had the best performance of ANY of the artists featured in this video. Jagger had this video shelved for 30 years because the Stones felt The Who outshined them! Jagger snuck Taj Mahal into England to perform in this video. The Stones performance starts off a little sloppy but picks up steam as it rolls along. A great concert & conceptual video overal. Highly recommended for ANY classic rock fan!!
I watched this at a theater and I was dancing in my seat. Seeing the dirty mac, tajmahal, and the other opener acts was damn awesome. Then "they" appeared and I feel in crush with Mick. I could easily see how women were so attracted to him. He's so damn adorable in this circus performance. Hearing these slick songs was a great trip to a great bluesy circus. I would have been in heaven if I'd been alive to go see that circus. So I had to get my own movie. And I was dancing in my living room!

Stones and more. This never aired in 1968, when it was originally filmed. A collection of artists (Jethro Tull, The Who, John Lennon, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones) performed their tunes in a circus atmosphere, complete with a fire-eater! Great stuff!

This is an excellent DVD that was recorded in England in 1968, but not released until the mid 1990's. If you like the Rolling Stones and have seen recent tours of this group you will find this 1968 recording featuring the vibrant Mick Jagger with the energy of his youth. Be sure to watch the bonus features on this DVD as it reveals a real time warp during the 39 years that have passed. In my opinion the Rolling Stones segment in this DVD is by far better than any of the other performers on this DVD, as the Rolling Stones were far better performers than anyone else during this period, or at least on this DVD. Note: Seeing John Lennon was a treat that helped off set Yoko Ono's cacophony. Post Note: I first ordered the CD version in error, as the CD looks almost identical to the DVD, but without the visuals most of the impact is lost.Read full review
