Terry Gilliam populates this labyrinthine, apocalyptic film with twisted characters and eerie revelations. The film was shot primarily in Philadelphia; Gilliam uses the more dilapidated area of the city to the film's apocalyptic advantage. The film is based on the 1962 French short film LA JETEE.

Modern Day Classic
This film had been directed by Terry Gilliam, who faced challenges from its studio before and won. The film is science fiction in a not gimmicky kind of sci-fi. The film features Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt in the same movie sometimes sharing the same scene together. Plus, James, Bruce's character, has to engage in time travel in order to save the future. And Madeline Stowe's character is not a token female character. Sci-fi fans and the curious need apply.
