Buy it! Great CD, I've enjoyed Shawn Colvins music for quite a few years and I have NOT be disappointed yet. Her voice is so easy to listen to and is almost familiar. I have several of her cd's and each is a treasure. If you already enjoy her music, this will be a great addition. If you've not heard of her, she has an almost folk/pop voice. I found her music while looking for music by Cheryl Wheeler and Beth Neilsen Chapman, also great cd's. Shawn's music is never boring, but not in your face. I will continue to buy her music. I recommend this cd to those who enjoy a fine singer and good songs.
i've been getting compilation cd's containing various artists performing progressive folk, modern folk, and folk-rock music and i've been noticing a pattern of sorts... shawn colvin is appearing on almost ALL of them (and small wonder---she's GREAT)! she's kind of a cross between sheryl crow, indigo girls and maybe sarah mclachlin, and yet totally unique. i don't know if all of her albums are as good as this one, but she is certainly worth another listen!
I'm a new Shawn Colvin fan. Of the several CD's I have listened to over and over again in the last two months, "A Few Small Repairs" captures the array of music Colvin is capable of. She interprets her own songs with a sense of realness that other artists often fall short of. My favorite song is her catchy "Witchita Skyline".
excellent on all counts!

A Few Small Repairs is her best effort to date. It's very listenable all the way through.

Just not real crazy about the CD. I've only listened once and not driven to put it back in the player.
