Entertaining film about a lazy happy-go-lucky Las Vegas lounge singer, Ralph (John Goodman), who by a quirk of fate becomes the King of England. In a freak accident the entire royal family is wiped out, and after an extensive search it is determined that Ralph is the closest living heir. Hilarity ensues as the Brits attempt to teach him to act in a regal manor and assume his new role, all while a jealous Lord is cunningly scheming to have him ousted.
This movie has an impossible premise, but it is a ton of fun to watch! I highly recommend it! The movie does not have cuss words, and the acting was well done. I really liked how the story developed and John Goodman and Peter O'toole both had great performances. It clearly showed how a person with weaknesses can excel at their strengths. Okay, be honest......all of us would love to be in this guy's shoes!
This is a funny and cute movie. John Goodman plays the part of a bungling American trying to be the king of England to the hilt and he is very funny, Peter O,Tool with his dry English witt and absolute class and dignity adds so much to the movie as he plays the Secretary to the king who is trying to prevent numerous international disasters cause by the bungling king Ralph. The rest of the cast is great. In my opinion this movie is suitable for all ages and is just a lot of fun.
Superb acting and quite humorous. Great photography. The kind of movie you would watch more than once.
