Assassins, the sixth in a series of eleven by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Assassins is the story of the murder of the AntiChrist fortold in the prophecy and the continuing drama of those Left Behind. You will find it a remarkable storyline and an easy read. After reading the third book in the series my Opinion is that the series has gotten better with each new book. You won't be able to put it down and you will be reaching for book # 7 in the series as fast as you finish the last page of book #6. The best Prophecy based fiction I have ever read. I would recommend this book to all.
This is the sixth book in the Left Behind series. It is also the first one in the series I did not finish in one sitting. It did not flow as well as the others, so as to lend itself to a complete reading in one evening. The book also spends a lot of time re-telling what we read in previous books. I felt this time like I read half a novel. The book starts in the thirty-eighth month into the tribulation. But most of the characters seem a little too self serving in this book. Allowing their own desires to guide their actions. Whether that desire be derived from rage, revenge, self pity, or even guilt. Rayford spends most of his time focusing on Hattie or his desire to kill the Anti-Christ. Though I do like the description of the handgun that Rayford procures. And when the time comes for the assassination, there are a few characters to chose from. The book ends in an old time cliff hanger where you are left guessing who it is that assassinated the Anti-Christ; though I think who it was is obvious. Stay tuned for the next volume. I have read this far, so I will finish the series. Though most people my find this book suspensful, I did not.Read full review
Excellent sixth book in the series. See my guide to the series. Thirty-eighth months into the Tribulation period the Global Community Forces are narrowing down the search for Ben-Judah, Rayford goes underground and become enraged and focused on killing the Antichrist, the Tribulation Force digs an underground shelter, Leah (a nurse) joins the Trib Force after treating Floyd and brings a "present" for the Force, Hattie absconds with a secure phone and and the secret of the Trib's "safe house" in a continuing attempt to assassinate Carpathia. Tsion is "preaching" to billions on-line. Mac and Abdullah are caught in an assassination attempt and a awarded as heroes of the GC. Leah goes undercover for the first time. David continues to be an invaluable asset to the Trib Force. The "Jerusalem Twosome" is killed by Nicolea. At the very end of the book Rayford and others are acting upon their desire to kill the Antichrist. We end the book with "who-done-it." This is a great series and I highly recommend it!Read full review
