Melissa’s sole output for Atlantic Records in 1995 produced By Arif Mardin, who also produced Hey Ricky & Emergency albums and the single Theme From Ice Castles (Through The Eyes Of Love). Arif always had a great craft in producing many powerful singers in their day such as Aretha Franklin. This album provides many powerful performances by Melissa before her voice evolved further. My favorite song on the album is the power ballad and lead single In A Perfect World which could have easily been the theme to the titanic or another romantic movie. Her duet with Gospel singer Wintley Phipps is also amazing. They flow well together and powerful through their duet Don’t Let Me Walk This Road Alone. The song was also recorded by BeBe & CeCe Winans around the same time. The title track written by Melissa and Amy Sky (who also recorded it) and is one of the best tracks on here as well! There’s a little bit of fun nostalgia with her version of the Boswell Sisters Crazy People to the jazzy remake of the Doobie Brothers Here To Love You. The opening track, The House That Love Built is a great song, but it doesn’t shine like her live performance of it for her Mother’s Day concert at The Rainbow Room in NY. Read full review

What a voice. What a talent. I love Melissa'a early work, but this is one beautifull C.D. Her music can really touch you . I believe this is some of her best work. A++++++
The music and arrangements selected for this CD were weak and lackluster. Very disappointed in her performance.
