A beautifully written book and well worth your time!
I have not finished the book yet... about 1/2 way through. I had no expectations because I knew nothing about the book or the author. At first I wasn't sure but now I LOVE it. Just good 'ol fashioned life in England in the 1930's. Herriot does a beautiful job of describing the scenery/excellent writer. I knew nothing about vetanarians (especially in the 30's) and it's fascinating! I love how the work-ethic in those days was was unstoppable on the farms and how the farmers stuck together (hard times after the depression). ALWAYS looking forward to picking up this book and leanring more. There is a defnite story line so hang in there with it if at first your'e not sure.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
