Well, let me start by saying commercialism ruined this band. REO was a uniquely dynamic rock machine by the late 70s pinnacling with albums Live,Tuna Piano, and Nine Lives. Once Infidelity hit, they became waterdowned, bubblegum shells of themselves. Good Trouble came next followed by Wheels Turnin and Life As We Know before band members changed. You can find only select deep cuts that rock amongst the made for radio sappy ballads. I recommend lifting the cool cuts from these latter four albums and make one nicely done best of compilation collection. The blame falls on pressures of the record industry and labels, dumbed-down media (and to some degree Kevin Cronin writing style thru that period.) Long live Gary Richrath!! One can only dream what those albums would have been like if among the hits, they supplemented real rock REO songs instead of the garbage that was fed to us!
