As I am from Streator which is a town in the Illinois Valley, I found this book really interesting! I recognized many, many of the subjects mentioned in the book. I never got bored with the book because it was written in several short stories and made for very easy, quick reading. Mr. Churney, the authorm did some great research when composing these stories. I will not only recommend the book to others, but actually loaned it out to two friends to read before I, myself, had a chance to read it. One friend wrote 12 pages of notes to remind herself of various facts. I finally got the book back to read and read over half of it in just one sitting. Great book!
