Aside from their first self-titled debut, How The Gods Kill is Danzig at its absolute best. The band had performed so much together, and mastered their sound in the studio, that you can hear how tight they are with every single song here. Glenn Danzig delivers a stellar performance as a vocalist (maybe his best singing ever here), ranging from soft singing to heavy growling all over this monumental album. John Christ, who Danzig should have never let go of, is all over the place with his intense riffing, and the rhythm section of Chuck Biscuits and Eerie Von are definitely earning their paychecks with this performance. "How the Gods Kill" is a brutally intense heavy metal song. "Anything" is a beautiful, strong offering. "Sistinas" - you either love it or hate it...I personally think it is ridiculous, but many Danzig fans consider it one of their favorites. And the refrain to "Do You Wear the Mark" pretty much sums up the sentiment of the members of Danzig: "Devil on the left, And angel on the right; There's no mistakin' Who I'll be with tonight." One of the finest hard rock albums ever written. Listen and you will remember why you just can't kill rock'n'roll. A 10 out of 10.Read full review
