Outlaw golf is the best golf game I have ever played. I am sure many of you have played a golf game at some time or another but none of them would come close to the brilliance of this one. It is so different to the usual golf games. GAMEPLAY ---------------- The actual game of golf, although you have the option to alter the rules if you want, is played just like any other in that you choose your club, hit the ball and try and get it in the hole in the least amount of shots. The characters are, however, a little different. Each one has its own amusing and somewhat shady background making them known as outlaws hence the name of the game outlaw golf. In total there are 10 playable characters, some of which need to be unlocked, each with there own unique caddy, who you have the option of beating the living daylights out of. There are 8 different courses to play on ranging from Turnpike Valley and Crusty Leaf to Psycho Sands and Glacier Ridge. Each course has its own interesting and different setting, geese wander around the putting greens, sewerage works can be seen boardering some of the courses, some fairways have caravans parked on them and you get the usual water hazards and bunkers. As well as the usual 18 hole game there are a number of other gameplay options such as tours, tournaments, driving range and golf cart challenges to name a few. Depending on how the game is going, a composure meter swings up and down, play badly and you are in the gutter, play well and you are in the zone. Where your composure lies also affects how your player performs. If you are in the gutter it shortens the distance on your club whilst being in the zone increases it. You can also raise your composure by beating up your caddy, the bigger the beating the more your composure goes up, or by taking part and completing a golf cart challenge. In between shots, each players character has its own scenes, if you are playing well the characters movie usually shows them boasting somehow, if you are playing badly then they have a temper tantrum. GAME CONTROLS AND APPEARANCE ------------------------------------------------------ The controls are relatively simple. You use the left or right analogue stick, whichever you prefer, to control the shot, pulling it back and pushing it forward, keeping it as straight as possible to ensure a good, clean, straight swing. The directional buttons are used to scroll through the clubs and change the types of shot. The graphics are good with each of the characters being displayed in alot of detail with tattoos and piercings standing out. Their outfits are pretty cool too, you get to choose what they wear, be it jeans and shirt to something a bit more skimpy. The sound effects are great, hilarious and sexual innuendos a plenty from commentator and players make the game fun to play. The game is 16+ and it is clear to see why. It is crude, sometimes violent, the language can be bad, and the sexual innuendos are certainly not suitable for young ears. Definately not a family game but one for the adults to enjoy. FINAL THOUGHTS -------------------------- My final thoughts on the game are that it is excellent, if you like golf, are not offended by sex, violence, and bad language then this could be the game for you. However, if you prefer the normal game of golf such as Tiger Woods and are the kind of person who gets disgusted by crudeness then this will not be to your liking. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!!!!!!Read full review
Wow, you know I really didn't like Golf...but I decided to buy it when I heard my friends talking about it. And man is this game awesome. If your buying it for a kid, probably not appropriate being that it shows girls bending over and it swears and uses some very sexual comments. But if you are a 20 yr old like me, and your looking for something to entertain you for a while then this is the game for you. It offers about 4 golfers at first which all have different challenges. When you beat all there challenges then you can upgrade to better clubs that hit farther and are more accurate. The graphics are great, and the opponents are fairly tough. But again, I'm not a golf guy. I know I bought this game for 20 bucks a month ago and I still play it. Also if you buy this game and like it try Outlaw Tennis...it's pretty tight.Read full review
best golf sim since Tiger Woods 2004. one game that has been waiting far too long for a follow-up release. every tiger woods EA game since has strived to match it's play mechanics;and failed miserably. the host, dave attel, does get a bit over-played after a while. characters will rarely repeat themselves during a round. course selection is a bit sparse, but with varying winds and well designed and tough courses keep it interesting. very few holes are just straight forward ensuring that strategy and proper course management are enstilled in even begining players. if you love golf, but feel the mid-low 40 scores easily achieved on tiger take too much away from the game...outlaw golf 2 will have you struggling to get into the 50's even after several rounds.
Not a bad game.Golf game play is not as good as some but still pretty good.Lots of other things to intertane. I have no problem with profanity and sexual inuendo .If you do dont buy this game. It,s alot even a little over the top for me doesnt offend me just annoys at times. That said it is fun to play and has some very funny stuff and for the dirt cheap price you can pick it up for now its well worth it.
A very well made game. It's a lot of fun initially but the difficulty approaches ridiculous pretty quickly. The controls work well and there are a lot of game modes but be prepared to be near perfect to get unlockables and increase the character skill levels to a high degree.
