I am writing my review because of another member's false review created on 09/11/08. This member's ID merlinever "review" comments follow my own: Here is what I say about the movie: FRANKENSTEIN is a wonderful, vintage 1931 classic motion picture. Very cutting edge for its time, and set the bar high for all monster movies to follow. Often imitated, never duplicated, it still stands up today as a major force in its genre. The first look at the Frankenstein Monster is shocking, especially to the relatively naive 1931 audiences, as the camera takes ever more closeup shots of his hideous face in rapid succession. Keep in mind that "talkies" had only been around for less than 5 years by then. The action is fast-paced. The storyline and dialogue is still magical and believable even today. Multiple generations of horror fans have loved it and future generations will continue to appreciate and enjoy this cinema treasure. The comments made by member ID merlinever regarding the "deleted scenes" are totally ridiculous! This member is referring to scenes from "THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN" - NOT - "FRANKENSTEIN". This other member has rated FRANKENSTEIN 3 out of 5 stars over scenes that aren't even IN the movie! This is why these movie reviews simply shouldn't be allowed, and as of 10/27/10 EBAY is placing them directly on the seller's pages underneath the TITLE. How wrong does it get? Now potenial buyers may make bad decisions based on totally false information. But I was disappointed to see that one of the most interesting parts, in which the escaped monster is taken in by a kind and overly generous old blind man, had been cut. In this part, as the monster dines with the old blind man, he makes the statement, "Eat,good......Drink, good.......People bad." And, of course, after the meal he repays the old blind man's generosity by killing him. I jusst can't imagine why they cut that part.Read full review
