The fine folks at Rhino Records have always been the front-runners when it comes to reissued recordings. In the late 80s, they released a series entitled "Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits", each album containing 10 songs from a specific year. This volume from 1960 features the Joe Jones hit "You Talk Too Much"; "Cathy's Clown", a classic Everly Brothers track; the all-time dance hit "The Twist" by Chubby Checker; R&B group the Drifters with "Save The Last Dance For Me"; Johnny Preston's "Running Bear" and the Hollywood Argyles "Alley-Oop", 2 great novelty hit songs from the year; the Brenda Lee song "Sweet Nothin's"; the original version of "Handy Man" by Jimmy Jones; the Ventures' instrumental surf-rock classic "Walk, Don't Run"; and "Stay" by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, which holds the unique distinction of being the shortest song ever to reach number one. The rock music scene throughout the 60s was quite a variety of fine artists and memorable music. This volume showcases songs that hit the top ten in 1960.Read full review

Great CD. Great clarity. But most of all, GREAT MEM OR EEEEZ. Got it for our 12 year old granddaughter for Christmas; Felt that she'd enjoy fun songs like "Alley Oop", You Talk Too Much; etc. She did. Thanks. ES in Mississippi
