The forerunner of BONNIE AND CLYDE (1968) has become a cult favorite. It inspired a remake in 1992 by former music-video director Tamra Davis and an homage in Jim McBride's version of BREATHLESS (1983). Wild young couple with a love of guns (she was a trick shooter in a Wild West show) and a knack for violence go on a spree. Better than Bonnie & Clyde
A very well written, well acted, and well thought out movie very tastefully done, especially in B&W. The obvious predecessor to Bonnie & Clyde, I preferred Gun Crazy. Why? B&C was an action packed, love crazed, Hollywood hyped movie. Beatty and Dunaway portrayed their characters as bigger than life. Not so in Gun Crazy. The actors portrayed their characters just as who they were without the hype. Far more realistic and believable. One of the best fifties dramas where a nice guy falls for the wrong dame.
