The Golden Age Hawkman Archives Volume 1 is the first in DC Comics issuance of the original Hawkman stories, illustrated by the great Sheldon Moldoff. Moldoff was arguably the best artist at DC at this time, with his work unabashedly copying the famous Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon feature. Hawkman never got his own comic in the Golden Age, but this book delivers his first 22 appearances in Flash Comics, including the origin story with Egyptian Prince Khufu vs. the evil Hath-Set and also the story "Menace from Space". The artwork is some of the best from the Golden Age and the stories have surprising detail and charm, most of them from the pen of famed writer Gardner Fox. Not to be missed.
LOVE IS EDITION OF HAWKMAN. I HOPE THEY RELEASE A VOULME 2 OF THE GOLDEN AGE OF HAWKMAN. I BOUGHT THIS BOOK AT A GOOD PRICE. HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR A BOOK ON THE GOLDEN AGE HAWKMAN FOR A LONG TIME AND I PRAY THERE IS A 2ND BOOK IN THE WORKS.
