The Two Versions
Absolutely fantastic Euro/Exploitation movie, finally presented in it's full 126 minute version. Unfortunately one star must be subtracted because the picture is cropped to fit a 4x3 screen, which is a terrible thing to do to such a visually stunning film like this. There are two different dvd releases for this title, a 25th Anniversary Edition, and a 30th Anniversary Edition. Other than having different cover art, the two versions are the same, seemingly the same print was used for both versions. The European cut is longer, and of course, better than the North American release that runs 90 minutes. **Added note 12/8/2020** Although the bluray is scheduled for release in January, it looks like it is only the 86 minute North American version. Quite a bit of footage missing from this 126 minute dvd. I imagine the truncated cut trims the strange erotic elements and the even stranger "menage a trois" relationship between Andres Garcia, Susan George and Hugo Stiglitz, and making the focus on the shark attacks. Personally I find the relationship elements the most interesting thing about the movie, and these elements make "Tintorera" the most ambitious film of Ray Cardona Jr. so it is advisable to hold onto the 126 minute dvd until the bluray stats are revealed. If the bluray doesn't include the long version as an extra then it's not worth it..Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
