When his wife is unexpectedly killed in a car accident, Rémi is left with his stepdaughter, Marion (Ariel Besse), who chooses to stay with him rather than live with her birth father. Initially repulsed, Marion's mature beauty wears him down as he finally caves to her seductions.

About this product

Product Information

A sensitively handled study of pedophila, told with a comic flare. Remy is a lounge pianist who loses his wife in a car accident. His fourteen-year-old step-daughter, Charlotte, wants to continue to live with him, but her biological father, a drunken clubowner, doesn't feel that this is right. She tries living with her father, but misses the comfort of Remy and eventually runs back to him. Her father relents and accepts her wish to live with her step-father. What begins as a simple reunion of father and daughter quickly takes on a whole new meaning when Charlotte confesses her love for Remy one night.

  • Beau Pere controversial drama

For those of you that enjoy French dramas this is a film you'll enjoy. Unfortunately this is one of the few DVD's that has the advantage of English subtitles for this film but the quality of the Kino Lober dvd is a direct transfer from video, the more recent Canal + version picture quality is far superior for the fluent French speakers, no English subtitles on this version. However the sound quality is roughly the same. I haven't reviewed the film because if you've heard of it you will know what it's about. If not, read the reviews on the internet.

  • A very daring and interesting film

This is a very daring film from 1981 but also quite interesting. I like the way it deals with age issues in a very sensitive way. I didn't pay a great deal for mine, it was good value so shop around
