Serious Jazz
Strange Cover. Great music. Charles plays with the best in the jazz world on this recording. Kenny Kirkland, the Marsalis brothers, Roy Hargrove, Joe Ford, Jeff Watts, the late great Jerry Gonzalez, and percussionist extraordinaire Steve Berrios. Just straight forward jazz/bop with a nice contemporary style. The quality of the recording is top notch as it was produced by the legendary Creed Taylor. So, If none of these names mean anything to you, then don't bother purchasing tihs CD. You probably won't get it. Seriously though, this is a very nice addition to any aficionado's collection! Yes, a hidden gem.
