It’s funny, it’s sweet, and it has a fruit bat. What else could somebody want from a Christmas book?

Readers familiar with Christopher Moore's previous books and newcomers alike will almost certainly enjoy 'The Stupidest Angel,' easily one of the most unusual Christmas stories ever to grace the pages of literature. The overtly saccharine aspects of the holiday are gleefully parodied, including a new twist on O. Henry's omnipresent plotline and the return of beloved barkeeper Mavis Sands, who gives new meaning to the phrase 'Christmas cheer' and could quite possibly end the tradition of mistletoe among the poor sods who read this thing. Even as the sacred cows of the Yuletide get thoroughly and mercilessly milked by the ever-witty and mischievous Moore, the true spirit of Christmas never leaves the pages; guaranteeing the reader a strange, but no less warm and fuzzy read in front of the Christmas fireplace. Let us just hope the other holiday books aren't being burned up in it.Read full review
This is not Christopher Moore's best novel but it is definitely worth reading. In fact, all of his novels are worth reading. They are all funny and wonderful and The Stupidest Angel is a wonderful, heart-felt Christmas story. Like his other novels it is full mystery, sin, intrigue, compassion and sneakery too. This is the angel orginially introduced in the novel "Lamb" up to some new tricks. The Stupidest Angel is very funny and a good laugh for this time of year. The Stupidest Angel...ya gotta love him.
Can't wait until I get my book in the mail. I have read so many Christopher Moore books. I started reading them in my ENG112 class that was based on comedy in literature. Love his work. Just finished "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove" and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, "The Stupidest Angel." If this is even a fraction as good as all the other books ("Bite Me", "You Suck", "Dirty Job", "Fool", etc.) I know I will love it.
