SynopsisWilliam Shatner has been called a visionary and an egomaniac, a great lover, and a bully. Now, here's the real story of this Canadian-born actor who found fame and fortune as Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise.
Gossipy bio with interesting behind the scenes stories
Captain Quirk is pretty much what I expected it to be...gossip and embarrassing stories regarding William Shatner. If you are not a passionate Shatner fan, this will be a hilarious read. If you do like Star Trek and TJ Hooker, you might at least enjoy the stories that former co-stars tell about his flirty and adventurous (and sometimes disaster-ish) behavior on and off the set. This book came out in 1994 so at the time, Shatner was single and definitely not afraid to mingle. I gave it 3 stars since this book may or may not interest you depending on if you like a gossip format. Another note: the author plugs his belief in UFOs quite a bit in the beginning of the book (he personally worked with Shatner on the documentary "Mysteries of the Gods") so you have to kind of tolerate it until you get to the beginning bio chapter. Cheers!
