Although the sales/marketing people and brochures might want you to believe this is a universal plug n play replacement blower motor, that has NOT been my experience with Carrier/Bryant/Payne systems. Not even close. I'm someone with 30 years repairing HVAC units and I'm also someone who actually does read manuals when dealing with something new. Just so you know this review isn't being written by a clueless idiot.
Here are some of the actual real-world problems I've encountered when using the U.S. Motors Rescue line:
1) Motor only runs at extremely slow speed in all modes (heating/cooling/etc.) And that's with both hooking the wiring harness from the control board directly up to their included EZI box and with using the adapter harness in-between, which the manual says to use if the motor won't run or you can't control its speed. But problem remained even with it and the speed dials on the EZI had no effect.
2) Motor runs at normal speed for heating/cooling but runs extremely slow in continuous fan mode.
3) Motor ignores on/off delay settings on the control board.
What's worse, Nideq/US Motors tech support doesn't seem to exist. Yeah, they say they do but no one ever gets back to you. I'm not exaggerating. I've tried contacting them multiple different ways at multiple different times and no one ever got back to me. In fact, I don't know a single person that's ever gotten a reply from them.
I'll end by saying that yes, this line of motors may work OK in some systems but I can't recommend them as a universal choice because they don't work OK in others and I've learned the hard way mor than once that you can't rely on getting any help from them either.
