I'd read some really negative reviews about 'The Last Of Us Part 2' before buying it, which initially put me off. But then my best mate said it was an absolutely brilliant game, so I went ahead and bought it purely on his recommendation. I thought the first game was really immersive and an extremely enjoyable experience, so Part 2 just builds on this strong foundation. It's really great to have a sequel that is every bit as good as its predecessor and takes the story to a new level. So I have no idea how this gaming masterpiece could score anything less than a 10/10 from fans of the first game.

Graphics perfect, sound great, storyline boring long winded and depressing. This game was written for shock value and has that many plot holes it's falling apart at the seams. I was so glad when it was over but definitely not satisfied with the experience. Why spend so much time making it look great to then make a complete mess of a unconvincing and emotional draining storyline. Avoid this plenty more great games to buy for less money.

This is an awesome game, I’m probably about 75% into completing it I there are NO faults. Compelling and emotional story, beautiful graphics and attention grabbing action. Shocked by all the negative reviews I have read on this game by some people with backwards views on the world. This game is brilliant, the characters are fully formed, complex and believable and the story is moving, emotional, gritty grabbingly brilliant. That’s all as a gamer I want. I don’t care if a character is a-sexual, straight, gay, bi, male, female, trans, non-binary, elf, orc, hedgehog or a petal. If it’s a good game ITS A GOOD GAME. And this is a BRILLIANT game!

What's good - Excellent graphics, gameplay, character models, exploration, environments, combat, stealth, music, upgrading, & the Joel & Ellie flashback scenes brought a tear to my eye, they were the heart & soul of TLOU. What's not so good - The story, it's depressing & convoluted, Joel's death felt rushed, the pacing was too slow at times (especially with Abby's gameplay), too many cutscenes (sometimes 3 or 4 in a row) & loading, Abby flashbacks with Owen are boring, we really don't get to spend enough in-game real-time to learn to care about these characters in advance, too many "endings", the game could have ended sooner but it went on a bit more, two unnecessary boss fights between Ellie & Abby, just needed the one boss fight at the very end. Overall, it was a good game, ND got so many things right, & I love the whole Last of Us universe, but the fractured relationship between Joel & Ellie felt like I missed a Part 1.5, also, the Bonus features such as turning on Infinite Ammo & Crafting felt odd for a survival horror game, it would have been better if they had put in a "gameplay mode", that allowed you to skip the cutscenes automatically, I would also like if they added the ability to lockpick vehicles for more items & collectables. It took me just over 33hrs (I skipped as many cutscenes as possible) to complete the game, & I found 197 items & collectables. I would rate the game a 7.5 - 8 out of 10.Read full review

It's a good game to play but the story isn't what a lot of fans wanted. It's a bit all over and because of some points it puts players off. I have enjoyed playing it and do feel I may do another play through, but Naughty Dog could have changed things story wise to make it better. More intriguing. Better emotional connection to characters and better character development. Overall I would recommend to play but buy when it's not £40+. It's worth £30 atleast.
