I loved these books as a child. Now I'm collecting them for reading with my grandchildren. These stories are about four children (brothers & sisters) who are orphaned and learn self-reliance and teamwork due to their situation. Later, they work together to solve mysteries. The children still have the occasional family differences such as not listening to one another but they learn how to resolve issues together as a family. While set a few decades ago, the stories are still great reading. I do recommend starting with the first stories (1-5) to get to know the characters and understand their individual personalities. Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny will become very real to readers of these books!
My grandson loves these books. He and I take turns reading and his reading skills are improving all the time. Thank you for these books.

I grew up on Boxcar Children books, and I absolutely loved them! I'd sit for hours on end reading the stories of the four children. When my children started taking an interest in chapter books, I knew I wanted to share these memories with them. I immediately started looking for Boxcar Children books to share with my children, and they are now enjoying the stories as much as I did!
These are the best books! They are so interesting that you can not hardly put them down.I was reading before I went to bed , put the book down to go to sleep, and had to turn the light on to read some more. Nice clean, fun mysteries.
