It is also equipped with the Kawai Concert Grand Piano EX, which was actually used at the Chopin International Piano Competition, the world's most prestigious piano competition, and has a total of three models of built-in grand piano sounds.
Authentic piano keyboard. Functional sound emulations
I bought this because I was dissatisfied with even the best midi controller keyboards. Wanted real acoustic piano keyboard feel. Exceeded my expectations in that regard.
The internal acoustic, electic, and clavicord piano emulations are very good for home use. There are better sound emulating products, but arguably not as authentic of keyboard action.
I use the built-in sounds sometimes, but mostly use Keyscape on the computer plugged in via USB to the Kawai.
I would definitely buy this or its equivalent controller only model again.
This doesn’t feel 100 percent like a real piano but it comes closer than most. It is certainly not what I would consider portable. It’s about the heaviest keyboard out there.
