The Sony Xperia XZ3: The best from Sony at the worst time
The Sony Xperia XZ3 is a brilliant smartphone in a tough market position. Its specs are on par with its competition, with a Snapdragon 845 and 4GB RAM, but it's more expensive. The XZ3 has a fantastic 6" OLED screen, with vibrant colours and a sharp resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels, giving it a pixel density of about 537 ppi. The front-firing stereo speakers are loud and sound great. Unfortunately, Sony have opted to let go of the 3.5mm audio jack, but the phone comes with a 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapter in the box. The phone feels great in the hand with its curved back. However, its shape and material also make it the slipperiest phone I have ever used. It's so slippery that when set on a surface it starts to slip and practically moves on its own. Even worse, I put it in my pocket and when I sat down it would just slide right out. This was easily remedied when I put the XZ3 in a case though. The software experience is very clean and strikingly similar to the stock Android experience. The camera software is huge improvement over previous Xperia devices. The camera itself has great hardware (19 megapixel rear cam, 13 megapixel front cam) but the software holds it back. The photos are generally good but tend to be over-processed and occasionally grainy. The 3300 mAh battery lasts comfortably through the day and charges fairly quickly if you have a fast charger. Sony's BatterySaver function manages the charging, especially if you're used to charging your phone overnight. This helps keep the battery healthy for years with minimal degradation. Overall, the XZ3 is an excellent smartphone that's fast and reliable. But with the next generation of Snapdragon 855 around the corner, it's hard to recommend it without a good discount.

surprisingly dissapointed
works all right, it just doesn't seem to hold its charge as long as I have become accustomed to with Xperia. I also have a preference for the compact sizes.
