Great toy for active small dogs.

I have a young male pug and he loves to play, especially with things that move or make noise. He's also rough! This toy is strong, and it got his attention right away. Totally made his Christmas!

    Not for every dog...

This toy was very appealing to me because I haven't seen many dog toys that are ACTUALLY interactive. My dogs love toys that make sounds, and I really believed they'd love that this toy can "move". The concept is brilliant, but the execution is flawed. First of all, the "fur cover" is really easy to destroy -- thus making this toy not suitable for heavy chewers. One of my dogs managed to rip the furry part the first time she played with this toy. Second of all, not every pupper will like this toy. 3 out of my 6 dogs are terrified of it. They refuse to pick it up, play with it, or even walk by it when it's "moving". My other dogs love that it squeals and moves. Third of all, it is such a pain to get this toy to turn on, but it's incredibly easy for my dogs to accidentally turn it off! I wish the toy would have an "on and off" switch instead of a press-able button. EACH AND EVERY time my dogs power the toy off, I HAVE TO remove the fur cover to reactivate the toy. My hands get covered in slobber, and it's difficult to perfectly reattached the velcro back together. Lastly, it's kind of difficult to get the toy to "wake up". Unless your dog aggressively shakes toys then you'll have to kick the toy around for it to provide interactivity -- which, for me, defeats the purpose of having an interactive toy. I wanted a toy that my dogs can play with by themselves to keep them occupied, but I always end up having to move the toy around for my dogs to enjoy it. It also moves and makes noise for a very short period of time. Maybe 10 seconds? Then it has to be shaken aggressively to move again. Overall, I probably wouldn't buy another one of these if something happened to mine. It's too much trouble. I'll probably invest in an iFetch 2 or something. This toy needs improvement, but it's not worthless. I'd say it all depends on the pupper.

  • Favorite toy of my Basenji dog

My 4 months Basenji is of very active breeds, who needs 1-2 hours per day of running and exercise outside. Nothing could excite him for a long period of time. Tossing ropes, tennis balls or frisbee would not do the trick, until I got him this toy. Now he is willing to fetch and chaise this Wiggly Toy for hours. He prefers me to toss it so he could retrieve and bring it to me so we could play a little tag-war and then toss it again. However, very often he activates the toy himself and just runs around with it. So far it lasted 5 days, but looks like I will have to change batteries soon, but considering the amount of time my dog plays with it I would say batteries life is pretty good. Note: always toss it close to the ground, kind of in rolling motion, don't throw it hight in the air to avoid shattering "wiggly" mechanism inside. Other then that it can take a lot of beating, pulling, biting and still function.

  • Hours of fun

This is great for those active pets that enjoy hours of fun such as my young Yorkie does. Because he can chase it and entertain himself when I am busy with other things and don't have time to just sit and play, but allows him to expend his energy safely. The only thing about it is due to its size, the little screws to change the batteries are so small (they have to be) that it requires the small eye glass screw driver set, but other than that has held up well and light enough that he can pick it up and/or drag it around. Glad I purchased it for him.

  • Our Dog Loves It

This is our dog's second one. The first only activates randomly. Our Schnauzer really enjoys chasing, shaking, and chewing on it. The first one's velcro closing is showing more, and I expect this one will do the ssame at some point. It does stayed closed, which is important. It's kind of spendy, but worth it for all the fun our girl has with it.

  • Makes a small dog barking sound

This was noted in the description, but in case you didn't see it like me, it makes a small-dog barking sound. My dog likes to play with this toy, but he growls at it, too, making me wonder if it is good for him as he has a bit of a dog aggression problem.

  • Good idea on paper, but not practical.

It's not expensive and appears to be made well, but 1. was nearly impossible to open the pocket that houses the ball to insert the 3 x AAA batteries. Actually had to cut the stitching to remove it. 2. My 2 dogs were scared of it and wouldn't even engage with it, possibly because, in addition to jumping around, it has barking and whimpering sound effects (what were they thinking?!?!). 3. If they had played with it as intended, most dogs would grab the tail and shake it side to side. This would result in them getting smacked on either side of the head with the ball, which is hard plastic and has a good bit of mass, due to the electronics and batteries.

  • BUDDY FOR PUPPY

I have a puppy and he was afraid of the barking noise and the movement until he grabbed the tail. Now he loves it. It's like having another buddy to play with him. I had to remove screws to open up the ball inside the "tail", protective so my puppy doesn't get at the batteries. I was laughing when it jumped out of my hand barking and moving. Lot's of fun.
