I have used another ATA for about 6 years without any problems, but recently it started failing. Purchased this one and it arrived quickly, took a little effort to get it working with my router, but now that everything is set up right, the quality is outstanding. Much better than my old one. My router is designed for Voip and needed to be set right to make this unit work flawlessly.

I set this up with an Asterisk server I use, and it went good. But the unit died within hours of use! It doesn’t turn on anymore! (the unit is the issue, not the power adapter. I tried other power adapters, and none worked.)

Don't know how this was shipped actually from Amazon Prime, although I ordered on eBay this item. I use VOIP dot MS service, it is low cost, easy to setup, allowing me to block junk callers. I have been using this kind of adapter for many years. It is great and reliable. VOIP's call rate is very reasonable. Its tech support has sample configuration that can be followed exactly to configure this adapter.

This review is more about how this product works (does not work) with Xfinity voice than the product itself. It appears to be a well-made product, however, if you bought it to work with Xfinity voice using any plain modem/router, you may be disappointed. I bought this adapter (and a cable modem) hoping to not have to lease Xfinity's modem with voice any more, however, Xfinity told me that this simple VoIP ATA device does not work on their network which requires an eMTA (embedded multimedia terminal adapter) phone jack. You may have better luck and/or get a more competent Xfinity tech when try to activate it, but it didn't work for me. I'm buying a Netgear modem with phone (CM500V) that is approved by Xfinity -- I just don't want to pay Comcast $10 a month for modem lease. I gave this product 5 stars as it appears to have nice build quality. It not working w/Xfinity is not the product's fault. Hope this review helps others contemplating buying this product for the same reason.Read full review

I have deployed 3 of these so far to connect Fax machines to my IP-PBX. Set up is simple, and performance has been flawless. Best and least expensive adapter I have found. It has two analog ports, so I have also been able to deploy inexpensive cordless phones as extensions as well. (Freepbx via Flowroute)

Cisco makes rock solid products and this ATA is no exception. My IP phone broke and having this allowed me to connect a standard home phone and get back in business until a replacement IP phone could arrive. It also allows me to use my IP PBX with a standard fax using the T.38 protocol. Great value!

The CISCO SP112 phone adapter is easy to configure and provides reliable excellent performance. The initial investment which enables access to many VoIP providers will pay for itself in the first month of use. This device will drive whole house wiring for multiple phones per line with better resulting sound quality than the landline it can replace.

If you've set up a wireless router, you can handle this. Besides, if you want to use an Analog phone with a VOIP network, this is basically your only option, and certainly the best option. I administer a VOIP network and use a few of these (2, soon to be three) to allow employees to utilize their current phones, but have an extension that is directly reachable, as if they are on site. For that purpose, they are reliable appliances that do the job asked of them. Also, issues with touch tones not being processed correctly appears to have been resolved in the latest update (I do recommend applying any available updates prior to using the device). For reference, I am running FreePBX as my VOIP server OS, which serves as a GUI/web reachable front end for Asterisk and is open source. My network involves approximately 20 extensions (with about 5 being external and the rest internal), an IVR, and multiple ring groups and time-based rules. Has been working great for ~4 years now.Read full review

Our company installed a VoIP system for our phones. However, our conference phone was not VoIP able and we still use the old school fax machine. This little device was recommended and we purchased it. It did wonders. We were able to get an IP address for the phone as well as connect the fax machine and everything works great.

Had to do a factory reset on this before it would work with recommended settings from my VOIP provider. Likely some non-default settings were leftover from previous setup as this was a refurbished unit. Could install newest firmware update with no problems. There was a bit of sticky residue on the side of the unit - likely from some tape that was later removed. Used a little Goo Gone and it wiped off easily.
