Bought a new Dell gaming computer to replace my 8 yr old HP, on which I had upgraded the graphics card. The new computer came with a graphic card that only has the really old school 9-pin VGA output and an HDMI output. No problem, I grab one of my extra HDMI cables, plug it into the computer--when I go to connect the other end to my Samsung 27" and find that it only has the 9-pin VGA input and a DVI input. Geez, how long ago did I buy this? So rather than buy a new monitor, I did a quick search to see if an HDMI to DVI adapter connector or cable was for sale on ebay. There were many available, from $5 for a connector to well over $100 for 20+ meter cables. As I culled through the many options I came across this Audioquest 2-meter cable. I have used Audioquest on my home theater components and found them to be well-made, quality cables that have never given me an problems. So I bought this one without reservation, and I'm glad I did. This cable is very well made with very solid connectors on each end. The cable is heavy and sturdy with a woven outer sleeve--a little overkill for my application but would be much appreciated in a office environment where it is being installed and removed repeatedly. If I had to provide any negative it would be that the cable is pretty stiff at the connectors, so if the port is in a location that requires a tight radius bend for connection it could place strain on the connection port. Highly recommend this cable for HDMI to DVI application.Read full review
