Always wanted to buy more of these since I was a kid. I really wanted the longer version to use with my stove and fire pit, but I don’t think has made those in 30 years. These work great though with a striker or without, which is very convenient. If I could knock them for anything it’s that they seem a little thinner than normal wooden matches and the amount of phosphorus on the tip is very minimal. Definitely not as much as shown in the pictures. Almost just enough to light on the first try.

I can't believe that the product is so expensive? On top of it all the matches are thin and the striker tips are way to small. I compared the old with the new and the comparison is astonishing. I don't know how much more they can squeeze out of the consumer before the consumer stops buying the product.

No local stores seem to have SAWs anymore. I'm old enough to remember when the big box of these cost a nickel, but that was 75 years ago......anyway, these SAWs appear to be of good quality and reasonably priced. Shipment was fast and the pack was well-sealed. Great convenience: It's a relief to be able to quickly light a match to start a fire without having to hunt for a spot on the striking surface of the box that hasn't worn out!

I remember these from my teen years where you could buy them in every grocery store. Made a "gun" out of a wooden clothes pin that ignited and shot them several yards. I might try to make one now just for fun. Great for my survival kit also.

I could not find these locally. Great to take a few along in a small container rather than the entire box full. I gave two boxes to my fellow campers and we all like them for the convenience.
