I have replaced 10+ neck corks over the last few years (as a repairman / hobby) and the type of cork is not easy to bend and apply. It also tends to break easily because of the "grain" of the cork. The right kind is more "porous" rather than "solid." I used to buy from a supplier who prepared one end with a bevel which worked well but he quit selling his product. Too bad

Fresh and flexible, solid cork, not composite. I was grateful that the length was long enough to encompass the neck. The width was long enough to allow for mouthpiece adjustment.

I originally needed this to pad a alto sax end plug but this cork is too large. It was still good for clarinet.
