Great Amp with a Noisy Fan and Janky Speaker Wire Binding Posts
The Good: - A very powerful amp with clean sound. I'm using it in bridged mode (1700 watts into 8 ohms) to drive an Infinity Subwoofer whose 1000 watt amp died. Works great from an audio perspective. The Not So Good: - The documentation describing how to wire the inputs and outputs in bridged mode is unclear, but I figured it out - The fan is on ALL the time. In my family room, the amp fan is the noisiest thing in the room by far. It is actually more of a bearing rattle than the white noise sound of air being pulled through the amp. The sound is in the mid-range, like 1500 Hz. - Yes, the binding posts on the speaker wire output are REALLY cheap feeling. Like they will break if you tighten them too far. I know that this is a professional amp and most users will use the Speakon jacks, but I needed to use bare wire. It is important to compress the wires to reduce resistance and oxidation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Replacement for Crown DC300A
Replaced an aging Crown DC300A as part of vintage audio Soundcraftsman PE2217 and Bose 901 Series I speakers in my garage/workshop. Play .wav lossless digital music files using Behringer's UControl UCA 232 DAC connected to my Android via on the go cable to feed analog signal to the Soundcraftsman. Am an audiophile with a critical ear. Found the KM1700 lacking in low end together with edgy midrange and highs. Replaced the KM1700 with a Crown XTi 2002 which includes DSP managed through Harmon Audio Architect software. Profound improvement over the classic DC300A.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Bang for the Bucks!!
At first I saw the KM750, but then saw this amp. I was hesitant but didnt want to buy an old crown amp but also wanted something new and recent. Not saying old crown amps are bad, but for the price I would have gotten a new amp. Glad I went ahead and purchased it, this amp puts out some decent power.
