Haven't really put it to work yet but just playing around with thin steel and using 110v it's ok but needs amperage to work and 30 amps on 110v is just going to trip The breaker over and over. The power cord is kind of short so had to send for a 220v extention so I could reach my plug. The pilot arc is great also and the consumables should last much longer. Wanted one for a while and the cost of this machine is great compared to big name brand so I got the tig/mma 185 also and love it, works great

The description is wrong. This is NOT a pilot arc machine. The circuit boards inside are all labeled CUT35. There are bodged-on trimmer pots inside that look like a 4 year old did it. The included tubing and clamps for the air regulator will never seal. There is a forum post on mig-welding dot co dot uk titled Chinese plasma cutter CUT-50 and my experiences are identical to that poster's. The output wire to the torch is 14 gauge. Do you think that can carry 50 amps?

You will notice that there are several companies making Cut 50 amp plasma cutters. They just package them slightly different and put their name on them but the internals are basically the same, except for the Amico 50 amp plasma cutter. The machine is slightly heavier that others but I feel it is because it is made better. The other very nice feature is that the air pressure regulator is built into the machine so the packaging is cleaner. Having used other Cut 50 amp machines this makes assembly out of the box easier and quicker. The primary difference I noticed was the torch and consumables. The torch is very well made and very easy to operate. Other Cut 50 amp machines I have used had the trigger assembly attached with zip ties. I have used the machine for about a week and have cut 9-10 objects out of 14 gauge metal and I am still using the same tips. The other Cut 50 amp machines would have gone through 3-4 tips by now. The main difference is the thickness of the copper base that touches the work-piece to strike the arc is much heavier and the internal pieces to the cutting tip are fewer and also heavier duty than other machines. The only draw back I have seen with the Amico 50 amp plasma cutter is that the cooling fan comes on quite often while cutting. The over temp light has never come on so I guess the cooling fan is doing its job. I am very happy with the Amico and I would recommend it to a friend.Read full review

I never used one of these, I was looking for a way to cut steel for welding with my mig welder. I received it and read directions, took it out of box, hooked it up. using the guide it was simple to start. Since I weld with my mig welder I know to be safe with it. The instructions worked well. I needed to be careful of the hot metal. I cut 1/8 metal to start and it cut well. The thing I found it was hard to keep a straight line LOL. But that is solved with a clamped piece of angle iron to guide you for a straight line. You can cut nice lines just have to lightly grind or file smooth. What I guess surprised me was the speed. If you have a lot of cutting or even just thicker metal it is fast. The power light stays on after shutting off, this is I guess because the gun is still charged. It will go off after a couple minutes. Only use it a few minutes. Worked well!! Amp-Plasma-Cutter-Pro-Cutting-Machine-110-230V-Dual-Voltage-APC-50/153365007844Read full review

At the shop we build a lot of race cars and I got this plasma cutter after a few reviews and research. It has made hulling bodies fast and easy and we even cut a 1/4 piece of steel just to see how well it works and it impressed me. Highly recommend for the at home workshop warrior not wanting to spend a fortune and still have good results. Also the tips and electrodes aren't hard to find and not pricey I would recommend ordering extras when you first start as u will burn some up getting your settings and air right.
