Works As Described
I recently purchased one of those smaller 500W plugin wall heaters. It received such rave reviews and was very inexpensive. Unfortunately, even after two hours on the highest setting, it could not warm my 100 sq. ft. room to a comfortable temperature. On the other hand, the Tornado AVH10 puts out sufficient heat to warm the same room from 47 F to 67 F in roughly 40 mins. Now, it does use more energy, 750W on low and 1500W on high (about the same as a hair dryer), but it's going to do the job within a reasonable amount of time. I would also like to point out that the cord allows for better placement options as opposed to a plugin wall heater.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Does what it says it will do.

Warms up the coolest rooms!
This is our 3rd Vornado heater. We love the way they heat all of the air in a room, not just the air in front of you. Makes the whole room more comfortable. They are very safe to use, if bumped or knocked over, it shuts off completely. It also does not get hot to the touch so it is safe around children and pets. We have used them in rooms of our house that are perpetually cold, and it makes them comfortable to be in. With the high cost of heating oil, we will be using them in the rooms we use most this winter to keep them comfortable while turning back the heat in the rest of the house. Not worth the money
