Shrill and bright. I expected something different from a "blues" harmonica. Wish I could trade it for a blues harp. Not worth the hype regarding stainless steel reeds. Supposedly this is a loss leader to get you to purchase the full sized harmonica, the Seydel 1847, for three times the price. That is never happening.

I decided to write this review after seeing a review calling this harmonica “unimpressive” and “shrill”. I’ve actually found it to be the opposite. The notes are as clear as a bell, not the least shrill. This is a small harmonica with a big voice. It is the harmonica I carry with me everywhere. I was surprised that 6 holes were sufficient to play the majority of songs I want to play. The reeds are easy to bend and they stay in tune. I do not doubt the claims that these stainless steel reeds will last longer than those of standard bronze, as claimed. This is not a miniature harp that is a novelty—it is a short harmonica that is easy to hold and use hand effects. I have no use for the lanyard, I just cut a leather sleeve to fit and carry it in my pocket. It’s always with me and always ready.
