I’ve had the lion king years ago for my birthday when I was a kid, but lost it after I moved. I was bummed. I’m happy I found the game along with the boxed cartridge and manual! I always like to collect video games with their box and manual. It’s more value and I admire the art work! Great game and everything works great!

The game setup is very simple. However, from what I remember I knew that the game play was very compelling but I had no idea the graphics were this good! I've only played through a few levels but it is really interesting game play. The only criticism is that the controls are not very responsive, but I think it's because of the overall response time of the controller itself and not due to the game. Overall great buy for the price.

[This is my first review I've ever written about anything. Though I tend to be a hard-rater, I try to keep my views as unbigoted as possible, while basing them on my own experience. It's purely based upon my own opinions, and should only be regarded as insight.] +There may or may not be spoilers present. YOU ARE WARNED+ __ So, what had me buy this game? I remember the first time I ever played The Lion King (SNES), and how much I enjoyed it. Though I am an avid gamer, I found this game, as a kid, to be challenging, but very fun. To this day, I still find it to lend for a challenge. _ Gameplay ~ Including Story, backdrops (immersiveness), and Controls. I find the general aspect of this game to remain close to the original story. It references key points of the plot, from Simba's encounters, to location. The backdrops and areas regarding them are something to admire. They draw out the experience with a vivid palette, yet keep things subtle enough so as not to distract your train of thought. The controls are another thing. Though they're very fluid, being smooth can make for inadvertently bad-timed jumps. You may especially discover this on level two. For Gameplay, The Lion King gets 8/10 _ Graphics ~ A typically overrated, but essential, category. As mentioned in part, I found this game to use a softer palette. The colors blend beautifully, and work well together in the given areas. The animations run very fluid-like, and though they appear to have had great effort put into them, they seem to lack a little luster. What I mean is that between actual motions, they can get a bit stale after a while. Being an SNES game, I believe the graphics deserve a 9/10 _ Audio ~ Sound effect and Music: The Light of Silence. First, I'd like to credit the voice acting. It was done well enough to have me believe I was watching the movie again! Trust me when I say this. ;) But not to digress, the sound effects were also well coordinated with gameplay. They don't overrun your overall experience, but make themselves known when needed. The score of music pertains to the original tracks of the film, and were recreated beautifully. The only thing that gets to me is the occasional repetitiveness. Even the song of The Pride Lands might get to you, if you should find reason to spend too much time on the first level. :P I believe the Audio deserves a 9/10 here. _ Challenge ~ More than just difficulty. As I've stated before, this game still poses a challenge for me to this day. The concept is fairly simple: Follow Simba through his adventure, from childhood to becoming King. But following through can be a daunting chore for anyone who hasn't played before, especially on later levels. And the controls don't always help. It really becomes a game of learn-as-you-go, which could either be a bad or good thing. But I suppose with enough practice, you can find yourself atop Pride Rock roaring within a day. For challenge, I give it a 7/10 _ Replay Value ~ A quick quip of longevity. I find it possible that you'll revisit this game at least once in a while. If you're not keen on replaying games, but you enjoyed The Lion King, you'll find reason to complete this game. ___ Alright, now to break down the scores... Gameplay ~ 8/10 Graphics ~ 9/10 Audio/SE ~ 9/10 Challenge~ 7/10* OVERALL SCORE ~ 8.5 Final Notes: I think anyone who enjoyed the movie as close as possible to myself should at least give this gem a try. ^-^ *I rate challenge differently than expectedRead full review

It was a great nostalgic feeling to open up the original box of this game. My daughter loves the game which is nice. She's not use to great graphics since I keep the Xbox to myself for now. But it's nice that she and her mother appreciates the old games. The game works flawlessly so kudos on selling this with the box as well.

I like it, played it when i was a kid, my five year old plays it all the time since we got it. It was a little challanging at first...i wouldnt recommend playing it without the cheat, go into the options menu and on the remote pad type B A R R Y you will come to a screen that will say INVUL: on or off turn on...you can also choose which level you want to be on ...
The lion king game was a gift for my granddaughter. It was her favorite gift out of all the presents that she had gotten. 👍
