Traditional SD-1 Overdrive Plus More
Great Overdrive Pedal. This is the premium version of the traditional SD-1. Discrete Electronics throughout but in traditional configuration. It has two modes. One is for the classic sound the other is an enhanced sound which gives different tonal qualities. The enhanced mode is really quite nice especially for Bass. You do have to play around with it a bit as there are lots of Options. Gives a nice breakup on the right type of amp. I'm using a Mesa-Boogie and it sounds great. I think an SVT or a Phil Jones or Marc Bass would be good candidates as well. Use with an isolated power supply or Batteries because at very High gain things can get noisy otherwise. Bypass is quiet. Construction quality is very good as you would expect from BOSS. The pedal housing is a solid hunk of Metal. Connectors are solid and make good contact. Overall a must have pedal for Bass players.Read full review

I gave this 5 stars because it’s BOSS, the overdrive is what boss wanted it to do but the Waza craft sound is a more fat warmer customization of an old SD 1 overdrives. Sounds great on my LP or my Strats, and of coarse you can shape the sounds right from your volume know turned down or wide open for wild fat sustain. It’s worth if you use it in the customized waza craft mode. The other mode is just a SD1 without the boost. But waza scooped more mids out and leveled them with lots of tone. And it warm too!! Grab one it wont disappoint
