One of the most intimate, emotional, and beautiful CDs in my collection. I don't think I've ever heard a tribute to anybody done so well as this brilliant ode to Warhol. Reed and Cale don't miss a beat as they cover the quirky yet tragic life of the ever prolific Andy. Every once in a while I come across a work that is so special it is almost impossible to describe in words. This is one of those times. 5 Huge stars.
Lou Reed was close enough to Warhol to write a fair and even group of songs about his life. It showed Warhol in his excess and eccentricities, but still maintained a warmth towards him as a sympathetic yet tragic figure. I love Hello Its Me and also Open House. The interplay between Cale and Reed are great. Lou's deadpan delivery and Cale's warmth make an interesting dichotomy.
I have always been a Lou Reed fan and I must say this is one of his better efforts. The CD looks like brand new and plays perfectly.
