Composed of lightweight cast aluminum, it is designed to allow for increased clearance to the ground and chassis. It will fit many GM rear-wheel drive applications originally equipped with a small or big block Chevy engine and factory rear sump pan.
The pickup tube is a terrible deign. The mounting flange is not welded to the tube like a stock F-body tube. It allows the tube to wiggle in the oil pump. So when it is mounted at the rear, if the rear flange is a little off then the tube sits in the pump at an angle. Good oil pressure for a while until it develops a gap on one side of the O-ring. Then no oil pressure. Noticed it too late and now need a new complete bottom end. Get a GM F-body pickup tube or get a Holley complete kit. Wasn’t worth the money I saved.
