The good thing about this product is clear view and accuracy and easy to operate. The bad thing about this ranger finder is when using to sight in areas of low daylight you cannot even read what is inside the scale because the letter inside are black. You have no way to tell how many yard it read because it is dark. I wish Nikon could do a better job with this range of price. Second, all the mode buttons are not so easy to use either especial this is a compact range finder. Steady is another issues. If you want a better quality range finder this product is not right for you.

Great product but there are comparable products that are clearer in low light conditions and will lock on in the rain/fog for less money. Shop around before just buying is my best advice.

Was able to get it out to 700 yards upon testing. It appears it doesn't like trees/bushes much, and will only lock onto dirt or solid objects and I couldn't find anything further than that to test. I believe my old Nikon Aculon (good to 600yds) had less issue with foliage/vegetation. Either way, I think it should do the job.
